Northern Wei Dynasty, Ca. AD 386-534.A Northern Wei dynasty terracotta ox depicted with head tilted upwards flaring nostrils, open mouth, and curved horns. The animal is modelled standing on a rectangular plinth; across his back is a detailed harness, reddish pigment on the surface to create the effect of a patched coat.
