After the Second World War, the doyenne brand of the French automobile industry wanted to renew itself. Designed by engineer Jean Albert Gregoire, the Dyna X was presented at the 1946 Paris Motor Show. Wishing to promote the use of aluminum in automobile bodywork, Gregoire made the Dyna X the first mass-produced car with an all-aluminum body. Drawn by designer Louis Bionier, this Dyna X stood out from other models thanks to its intricately curved aesthetics, quickly giving it the unofficial designation of Dyna X Louis XV for its complex styling.
Although presented in 1946, production only began at the end of 1947, with bodywork production entrusted to Facel Metallon in Colombes. On the production Dyna, the headlamps were streamlined and better integrated into the bodywork. The 1950 models were embellished with several polished aluminum trim strips on the body and a new radiator grille with a central round motif. In the same year, the 4 CV 745 cm? engine developing 33 HP made its appearance under the X86 mine type, and the car now reached speeds of 120 km/h. For the 1951 models, presented at the October 1950 Motor Show, the dashboard changed to a single dial, and the hood received five attractive air vents.
Over the course of its career, the Dyna X and its engine enjoyed an enviable number of competition successes, including victory in the 1951 Agadir Grand Prix and the 1954 Monte Carlo Rally.
The car we are offering for sale is a second-hand example, which has always retained the same registration. This car has never left the Somme. It is in very good condition, always maintained, the mechanics work very well, and the road test revealed no major faults.
