August 3, 1811" to foot of title and trimmed bookplate laid below colophon, gothic letter, printed in red and black, large woodcut device on title-page, title within a woodcut border of foliage and grotesques, large woodcut illustrations in text of Gratian in his study with popes and cardinals, surrounded by border of figures of prophets, of Trees of Consanguinity and Affinity, title a little soiled and with ink ownership inscriptions to head, worming to first and last few gatherings, final gathering with marginal tearing and fraying, occasionally affecting text or headlines, 1 or 2 margins strengthened, 20th century brown morocco, a little rubbed, folio, Paris, Berthold Rembolt, 1518. ⁂ Rare, attractively-printed edition with a good provenance, we can trace no copy at auction since 1971.
