Iran Kingdom of Persia, Imperial Bank, Isfahan 20 Tomans 12.11.1927 Pick 15 PMG Very Fine 20. Issued banknotes from the Imperial Bank of Persia are always in demand, and Isfahan examples are scarce in any format. Isfahan is located in the center of many crossroads in Iran, and continues to be an important land port. Good color, strong paper, and vivid details are easily seen on this excellent example. The front depicts an intense portrait of Nasr-ed-Din while a vignette of a lion brandishing a sword on enhances the back. A minor restoration is mentioned for accuracy, which does detract from the overall visual appeal. At the time of cataloging, there are only 15 examples graded in the PMG Population Report.
