AN ANGLO-INDIAN VIZAGAPATAM TEA CASKET, c.1800, engraved overall in black ink with foliate borders enclosing panels of gardens and buildings, on compact bracket feet, the sandlewood interior with inlaid detachable divisions, inscribed label to underside. 29.5 x 18cm high Condition Report: - See images - good overall condition - top panel with a split and age crack and small splits to the foliate border - exterior of ivory veneer - the front panel with a diagonal split and age cracks with some further splits to foliate veneered borders - two feet reset - front left foot with tiny loss of ivory to edge - side panels with splits - hinges good - interior good - small timber split concealed at one corner - back panel with an irregular shaped split to the left side - veneer is flat no flaking or lifting
