1937 Austin 18/6 York 7-seater saloon Reg. no. DOM 485 Chassis no. E/RZ51619 Engine no. 1FE12311

1937 Austin 18/6 York 7-seater saloonReg. no. DOM 485Chassis no. E/RZ51619Engine no. 1FE12311The Austin 18 was introduced in 1937 and was supplied in two different wheelbases to carry five or seven passengers. Its engine and front seat were mounted nine inches further forward than that of its predecessor, the York Sixteen. The chassis was also extended by three inches, giving plenty more passenger space. This example appears to be very original and presents very well, having been in a heated garage for many years. DOM 485 has been in current ownership since 1985, purchased from a gentleman from Lickey End, Bromsgrove, very close to the Austin home. The car will require some recommissioning following a period of storage, but when last used a few years ago, this large Austin performed as you would expect. It is offered with a receipt for the 1985 purchase and a copy of an old V5.Estimate: £3,000 - 5,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU.
