Philip V gold Cob 2 Escudos ND (1732-1743)-M MS63 NGC, Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino mint, KM21, Cal-Type 243, Restrepo-Type M80-12. Assayer upright M. 6.74gm. A intricate survivor of this usually crude issue, the present offering showing a full cross and detailed shield with an M (upright) to the right, tracing it to assayer Molano. Even though Restrepo only plates a sideways M and the assayer does resemble a VA monogram (attributed by Calico to 1701), the thick, small cross and the semi-circle arc's joints' corroborate with the style from Molano's period.
