1859 50C PR64+ PCGS. CAC. The proof 1859 half dollar is less often seen than most later proof issues in this series, although it is typically available in one grade or another for the patient collector. This is an attractive, high-end Choice example, showing vivid ocean-blue, green, gold, and rose toning over mirrored fields and sharp devices. Some border stars are slightly weak. Population: 46 in 64 (2 in 64+), 13 finer. CAC: 7 in 64, 5 finer (6/23).
