1974 Land Rover SIII Lightweight Reg. no. JEU 791N

Lot 391974 Land Rover SIII LightweightReg. no. JEU 791NChassis no. TBCEngine no. TBCTransmission: ManualMileage: 74,434MOT: May 2024 (Exempt) Estimate: £9,000 – 11,000The lightweight LR was used across the British military for several decades. It was initially intended to be lifted with helicopters but in the end was more usually transported via train or plane. Designed to come apart easily, the slimmer track and unique body panels make for a great looking series to own.Purchased and registered as ‘03 GF 12’ by the British Army, this example was used in Cyprus alongside UN forces. Then it was sold for civilian use around a decade later under the plate ‘JEU 791N’. The current custodian purchased the 4x4 in October 2021 and undertook a restoration from November that year. This very solid truck has a good chassis, body and canvas and was driven to us, starting and running nicely, selecting gears with ease. The NATO hitch on the front, tow bar on the rear and the military accessories that adorn the Land Rover, complete the look. Different seats have been fitted for comfort, but the rest of the interior appears clean and original. The sale includes a current registration document, Lightweight user manual, as well as some parts receipts, but importantly a photograph album of the restoration. To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on July 1st at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU with viewing on the 29th and 30th of June, you can also join us at our Nostalgia Social cars & coffee event on June 25th.
