Lee Enfield No.8 .22 rifle DA1204 LICENCE REQUIRED Lee Enfield No.8 MkI .22 bolt action rifle, 22inch barrel, the wrist joint stamped CR324, M47C, 1952, the bolt with serial number A1204, the magazine floor plate with similar stamps but dated 1951, fitted with Alfred J. Parker Model 8/53 target aperture rear sight, and tunnel front sight, the pistol grip but fitted with trap for extra elements. The stock has only very minor infrequent marks. The handguard on the top of the rifle has some shakes (faults lines in the wood) which look to have been stablised at some point, there is a filled hole, see images 14-16 which have recently been added online to illustrate this. The handguard despite these faults appears strong and stable. The black finish to the metal work might have been touched up in places but is currently very good. The bore is bright and shiny with a good well defined rifling pattern. The action works correctly.I have personally seen this rifle shooting on several occasions as it is being sold by a club member. It seems to group well.
