MARVEL COMICS - Planet of the Apes Magazine No. 5 P. 7-23 by Ed Hannigan and Jim Mooney with Signed Issue Planet of the Apes Magazine issue 5 pages 7-23 published by Marvel Comics in February 1975 as "Planet of the Apes, Part V of VI - Into the Forbidden Zone." The issue was written by Doug Moench with pencils by Ed Hannigan and George Tuska, inks by Jim Mooney and Mike Esposito, and final cover art by Hannigan and Mooney. The issue was also the first Hannigan penciled for Marvel. This lot comes from the collection of Ed Hannigan. It consists of comic art for pages 7-23 (17 total, a partially complete story) rendered in mixed media on oversize illustration board with Hannigan's signature on each page and additional handwritten annotations throughout. Also included is a copy of Planet of the Apes Magazine no. 5 signed by Hannigan and a copy of Ed Hannigan: Covered, published in 2010 by Marvel and co-sponsored by The Hero Initiative. The lot exhibits some staining and folded corners, and the signed magazine is torn on the front cover.
