A fine and rare mid 19th century brass skeleton timepiece

The thick plates with chamfered front edges secured to the signed angled brass base by a pair of L-shaped brackets and further united by a pair of turned pillars, the lower portion skeletonised and carrying the dial and visible motionwork, the upper section tapering to a point and carrying the spring barrel and four wheel train, (the wheels of six and five crossings) terminating in a deadbeat escapement with brass pendulum suspended on a bracket with rise and fall fine screw adjustment, to a halberd-shaped bob, the 3.5 inch dial with skeletonised Arabic chapters within a pair of knurled bands enclosing the blued steel spade shaped hands, (the centre arbor linked to the third wheel via a steel chain running between three pulleys mounted on the backplate) all raised on a walnut base with recessed lip for the glass dome.
The frame 31cms (12ins) high. Total height, including base and glass dome 37cms (14.5ins) high.
