Great Britain Victoria gold "Diamond Jubilee" Medal 1897 MS63

Great Britain
Victoria gold "Diamond Jubilee" Medal 1897 MS63 NGC, Eimer-1817a, BHM-3506. 55mm. By G.W. de Saulles, after T. Brock and W. Wyon. Commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of Victoria. VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN MDCCCXCVII Veiled and crowned bust of Victoria // LONGTVDO / DIERVM / IN DEXTERA / EIVS / ET IN / SINISTRA / GLORIA Young bust of Victoria atop sprig; in exergue 1837. Few of Victoria's numerous Medals can claim to match the level of aesthetic refinement as is seen with her "Diamond Jubilee" series, especially in large-format at the Choice level of preservation as is witnessed here. While we've handled many of her smaller silver and gold Medals, rarely do we get the opportunity to see these in large-format, and arguably the most appropriate for fully appreciating the engraved design, which will certainly land in an advanced collection of British historical Medals. Accompanied by the original embossed case of issue.
