A rare silver mounted shasqua with monogram 'N II' dating: circa 1900 provenance: Russian Empire, Curved, single-and false-edged blade with double groove, the rear doubles toward the foible. First part finely engraved with sun, moon, stars, trophies and floral motifs on a blue ground, back with leaves. Hilt of typical shape, completely covered with silver foil, finely engraved and nielloed, monogram 'N II' on the pommel. Wooden, leather-covered scabbard and with silver mounts, decorated en suite. provenance: John Mollo collection. length 94.5 cm.
