William Watson II (1831-1921) Highland Cattle Watering at a Loch, signed and dated 1913 lower right, oil on canvas, 82 x 102 cm, in a large gilt frame measuring 111 x 141 cmProvenance: consigned from a private local collection, purchased from the collection of William Watson's children Walter (1897-1963) and Mabel (1883-1968) who were friends of the vendor's family. Condition:The painting is an oil on canvas, framed under glazing. Not examined external to the frame. The canvas does not have any obvious holes/tears etc. canvas has some loss of tension, particularly to the lower left. The paint has some surface level craquelure, appears stable, no obvious paint loss. There are spores of mould on the paint surface, please see additional photographs, which will need attention. The frame has general wear and tear including surface cracking and scuffs to corners
