German States Saxony. Friedrich August I Proof Pattern Taler 1814

German States
Saxony. Friedrich August I Proof Pattern Taler 1814 PR66 NGC, Dresden mint, KM-Pn67 (this coin), AKS-19. An immense rarity for not only Saxony specialists, but of the whole for German States collectors. To handle a Pattern of this vintage from any German State is a special occurrence but to see one so fine, with palpable eye appeal, and a Krause plate coin all in one is nearly unheard of. A clear product of the skilled hand of medalist Adoph Thomas, whose sensitively portrait of Friedrich August I and meticulous reverse crowned arms adorn this outlier. Neon blue silhouettes permeate the flashy expanses, lending to the incredible eye appeal bestowed upon the piece at hand. Notably devoid of adjustment marks and significant imperfections that typically befall these types, making for an advanced piece for a quality cabinet.
