George III (1760-1820), Pre-1816 issues, Pattern Penny, 1797 (late Soho), by C.H. Küchler, in copper, large undraped laureate bust right, die flaw across lowest berry, legend around raised rim, rev. Britannia seated left on rock, offering an olive sprig forward, holding a trident to her side, no k on rock, 12h (BMC 1094 [KP 6]). Some minor surface marks and weak on legend, otherwise extremely fine, traces of original colour [slabbed NGC PF 63 BN] £600-£800
