A LARGE SILVER REPOUSSE AND GEMSTONE-SET RELIQUARY, LATE 19TH CENTURY
Tibet. The stupa-shaped reliquary set with coral and turquoise cabochons, the upper segment depicting Maitreya standing on a lotus base to each side, backed by a radiating mandorla and surrounded by swirling clouds, the sides and lower segments with further figural scenes, each tier divided by lotus petals, the base is sealed with prayers by a plate depicting a seated figure surrounded by birds perched on trees and swirling clouds.
Condition:
Very good condition with minor wear, few dents, nicks, minuscule losses, and small chips to the inlays.
