Henry Avray Tipping FSA (22 August 1855 – 16 November 1933) was a French-born British writer on country houses and gardens, a garden designer, and Architectural Editor of Country Life magazine for 17 years. Christopher Edward Clive Hussey (21 October 1899 – 20 March 1970) was one of the chief authorities on British domestic architecture of the generation that also included Dorothy Stroud and Sir John Summerson. This major venture was a collaboration between Hussey and Tipping, his mentor and predecessor at Country Life magazine. Together with two Gertrude Jekyll titles.
