An extremely difficult level at which to find this final date of the George III sovereign series, as verified by the fact that just a single example ranks a point finer out of over 250 seen to-date across both NGC and PCGS. Strikingly clear across both faces with overall chatter kept to a minimum, the protected regions around the legends forming a halo of satin luster. We have offered just two other 1820 sovereigns in this grade, the last of which brought $11,400 in our August Platinum Night sale.
