A Burmese silver bowl. Early 20th century
Of deep form with an almost vertical wall, chased and engraved with various figures including a pair of lovers, a horse rider, dancers and a man with a demon mask on ring punched ground with foliage, within niches formed by lobed arches and flower pots, between an acanthus leaf border around the base and a thin ornamental band around the rim. Inscription to the base reading: ko rhve ni, ma rhve thih phalah ko rhve ni (vessel belonging to Ko Shwe Ni and Ma Shwe Htee) (probably husband and wife). Weight 1185 g.

Fast vertikale Wandung auf flachem Boden. In Treibarbeit, Gravur und Punzierung zwischen einem unteren Akanthusblattfries und einer dünnen Musterbordüre oben in durch passige Bögen und Blumentöpfe gebildeten Nischen verschiedene Personen, darunter Liebespaar, Reiter, Tänzerinnen und Mann mit Dämonenmaske, der Fond bestehend aus Blattwerk auf gepunztem Grund. Am Boden Inschrift mit der namentlichen Bezeichnung der Besitzer: ko rhve ni, ma rhve thih phalah ko rhve ni (Gefäß von Ko Shwe Ni und Ma Shwe Htee) (vermutlich ein Ehepaar). Gewicht 1185 g.
