A flintlock fowling piece. Barrel signed Lazaro Lazarino Legitimo De Braga. Lock with a typical Miquelet shapes cock and frizzen but with an internal mainspring. The frizzen or steel is engraved with 1823. Barrel octagonal to round. Marked with Liege proof mark ELG* in oval. Walnut stock with brass furniture and marked with an oval with crown and PF in it. Butt shaped in Mediterranean (Napolitano) style. Caliber 15 mm. Maker Lazaro Lazarino was known for making export guns for South America with barrels from Liege, like this one, or Birmingham. Italy, dated 1823.
