1956 Ford Consul MKII


1956 Ford Consul MKII Make: Ford Model: Consul MKII Year: 1956 Mileage: 0 VIN: 204E18058 Configuration: Right Hand Drive Registration: KSL696 Transmission: manual 1,703cc, 4-cylinder, 59bhp, 3-speed manual column gear change. Built by Ford at Dagenham, the Consul MKII was produced to modernise the Consul and Zephyr/Zodiac range, with its additional chrome and larger interior. The Zephyr and Zodiac focused on the upper end of the market while the Consul satisfied the needs of the masses with its four-cylinder engine. This car was retained by the first owner until 1982 and then the second owner until 2008. After fifty-three years it was acquired by the MKII Owners Club who stated that it was possibly the earliest MKII Consul in existence as it has a flat rear panel whereas the vast majority were fluted. It was featured on the front cover of Classic Car Weekly in 2009, a copy of which is included in the history file. Described by the vendor as a very good driving example with both a good engine and gearbox. Its history file covers mostly from the 1980's through to the present including many MoTs dating from the 1980's to 2020 when last issued, some receipts dating from 2009 to 2020, articles, work analysis from 2012 to 2016 and magazaines.
