Ca. 500-300 BC. A lovely collection of three repousse gold appliques, crafted in the flat-section style, each representing a stylized animal. Each applique is expertly worked with pronounced face details, pointed ears, and paws. The use of gold as the primary material imbues the objects with a sense of prestige and opulence, highlighting the inherent value placed on these objects in the ancient world. These repousse gold appliques are typical of the Scythian world, where such objects were used to adorn various items, including clothing, horse trappings, and weapons.
