Provenance: This Bargueño belonged to the Duchess of Medinaceli, Angela Apolonia Pérez de Barradas y Bernuy (1827-1903). The heirs found inside a letter of thanks from the poet José Zorrilla to the Duchess of Medinaceli in the Zorrilla Museum in Valladolid.

The bargueño has an architectural structure, typical of Spanish bargueños of the Baroque period. It has a hinged front lid, decorated on the outside with cut-out and openwork metal plates, applied on a red cloth background (common in this type). The interior of the front is decorated in the best style of the period, with geometric decoration within carved and gilded panels. The blue colour of the decoration stands out, an original feature rarely seen in this type of piece. Helicoidal columns in bone and gold outline all the drawers inside the upper part. It stands on its original foot, which is closed with two drawers and two entrance doors carved in rhomboid format, also in bone and gold, with geometric decorations and central locking shields, also with wrought-iron plates applied on fabric.
