(t) CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang). 10 Cash, ND (1906). PCGS MS-64 Red

(t) CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang). 10 Cash, ND (1906). PCGS MS-64 Red Brown.
CL-BY.05; KM-Y-67.1; CCC-300; Duan-1072. Round-mouth dragon. Tied for second finest at PCGS, with only two pieces grading finer. More red than brown with a boisterous pinkish copper color and sweeping luster. Nicely struck, though the dies exhibit some cracking, including a complete break on the obverse that is interesting to examine but does not affect desirability. Slightly rotated dies are also evident. Some gentle, rich brown patina can be seen intermingling with the bright surfaces that are remarkably free of marks or carbon spots.

Estimate: $500 - $700
