A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SERPENTINE CHEST OF DRAWERSCIRCA 1770With a slide, the drawers flanked by stop-fluted columns84cm high, 112cm wide, 58.5cm deepProvenance: Private Collection, Isle of Wight Condition Report: There are some marks, scratches, knocks, chips and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are losses, restorations and observations including: some patches and filler including to the back corners of the top, two dowel marks to the top front corner of the right side, sections of replacement beading; the slide with scratched name 'RAILTON 1836'; pine backboards, there is evidence of worm; the oak drawer linings have blue paper glued to the interiors; the handles and escutcheons appear to be later from the shadowed marks around these areas.Please refer to the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition.
