Frederick Gordon Crosby (British 1885-1943) "Racing at Brooklands 1930" Race scene at night with a works Supercharged 1930 Austin Seven Ulster driven by Sammy Davis being illuminated by lanterns whilst breaking thirteen International Class H records. Twelve hours were completed at an average speed of 81.71 mph at Brooklands race track. This car was the winner of the 1930 October BRDC 500 mile race driven by Sammy Davis and the Earl of March, signed, charcoal and wash heightened with white . 45.5cm x 71cm (17.75in x 28in) Race The drawing is in very good, original condition. There are one or two minor scuffs and surface marks across the paper and some cockling across the sheet. There are some minor stains around the edges of the paper. The drawing is ornately reframed and glazed. The frame has some minor knocks and losses commensurate with age.
