The iconic key date of the series and despite an initial mintage of 201,000 pieces for the year, the majority of examples were retained and melted after the 1907 currency reform. A thoroughly pleasing example of the type elevated further by the subtle peripheral iridescence that frames the impressively struck central devices. While assigned a "cleaned" designation, the hairlines remain admittedly light and less obtrusive to the general eye appeal than most comparable specimens.
