Nabbes (Thomas) Hannibal and Scipio. An historicall tragedy. Acted in the yeare 1635 by the Queenes Majesties Servants, at their private house in Drury Lane, first edition, woodcut device to title, woodcut head-piece, with final blank, occasional light foxing or browning, small rust-hole to E4 with loss to 1 or 2 letters, 19th century polished calf, gilt, spine a little rubbed, [Pforzheimer 755; STC 18341], small 4to, printed by Richard Oulton for Charles Greene, and are to be sold at the white Lion in Pauls Church-yard, 1637. ⁂ The first edition of Nabbes' most celebrated work, rare in commerce. This quarto edition is unusual in being one of only 5 examples from the period that includes a cast list of the original production, the members including William Allen, Richard Perkins and Theophilus Bird.
