Yunnan. Republic Tael ND (1943-1944) AU Details (Cleaned) PCGS, KM-X1A (under French Indochina), L&M-433, Lec-324. Struck in Hanoi for use in French Indochina, with the obverse symbol of Fu (Wealth) engraved by René Mercier in "Art Deco" style. A perennially popular type at this level of preservation and higher, presenting untoned fields par scattered obverse darker spots and stains. The grade modifying hairlines are most prominent below the Fu, yet some pleasing mint bloom survives in protected areas.
