MEN IN BLACK (1997) - Worm Guy Puppet Display - A worm guy puppet display from Barry Sonnenfeld's sci-fi comedy Men in Black. Worm guys lounged in the breakroom at MIB headquarters while Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) explained the agency to Jay (Will Smith). This lot consists of a textured foam puppet made by Rick Baker's Cinovation with a fiberglass base painted beige and inset with black acrylic eyes, metal-reinforced antennae, and smaller arms. Mechanical wiring and cables designed to move the puppet are connected to a metal lever through the back. It comes mounted via a metal rod to a wooden base painted black. This lot has undergone sympathetic restoration to address extensive cracking and chipping in the foam from age. The head exhibits minor articulation, but remains significantly fragile and is not recommended for operation.
