APOLLINAIRE Guillaume

APOLLINAIRE Guillaume (1880-1918). L.A.S. "Guillaume Apollinaire", Paris "15 rue Gros" September 5, 1910, to Pierre LAFITTE; 3 pages in-8. Beautiful letter to the director of Excelsior magazine. He recalls his "status as a former contributor to the Revue Blanche", and believes that he is no stranger to the publisher. "Since the Revue Blanche, I've done a lot of work, and I think I've made significant progress. That's why I think I could be useful to a newspaper that would agree to insert my literary productions on a regular basis". The success of his approach to Lafitte "is of the utmost importance to me, and would relieve me of a thousand worries, of all the difficulties that embarrass my life"; and he confidently awaits a favorable response. He announces the publication at the end of September by Stock of a "book [L'Heresiarque et Cie] where you will find the short stories that had the honor of appearing in the Revue Blanche. M. Elemir Bourges has been kind enough to look for a publisher for this book and obtain excellent conditions".
