ATTICA. Athens. 2nd-1st centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (30mm, 16.62 gm, 12h). NGC AU 4/5 - 3/5. New Style coinage, ca. 113/2 BC, 8th month, Eymareides and Cleomenen, magistrates. Head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with a vine scroll, Pegasus above filled upturned cheek flap, protomes of four horses above visor / Α-ΘΕ / EYM/APEI/ΔHΣ / KΛEO/MEN/ΛΕΩ, owl standing facing on overturned amphora inscribed with H (month); Triptolemus driving biga of serpents left on right, ΣΦ (engraver's initials) below, all within olive wreath. HGC 4, 1602. Struck on a lustrous toned flan.
